26 weeks pregnant!

The beautiful bride

The beautiful bride

I can’t believe that tomorrow I will be 27 weeks pregnant, and be in my final week of the second trimester! Time is flying by and we still have so much to do! I know that the baby is not going to care what the house looks like, or how organised we are, but it makes me feel better and more relaxed when we get things done and get things organised.

This week has been a pretty busy week for us. On Saturday we attended my friend’s wedding, which was absolutely lovely. She looked absolutely stunning in her dressing and we had the most amazing time! I ordered this lovely floral dress from the Katie Piper maternity range from Want that Trend. I definitely would recommend ordering from Want that Trend, my dress arrived so quickly and was such a good price. I didn’t want to spend too much on a dress that I am not likely to get much use out of so at just over £20 it was perfect (sorry I can’t remember the exact price).

Jamie and I after the wedding

After the wedding

We didn’t take many photos at the wedding, but when we left Jamie and I took a photo of us together. I really do appreciate everything he does for me as well as everything he does for Poppy (our golden retriever puppy) and also for the baby. He puts up with all my moaning and stressing over getting things sorted – although he does love to tell everyone how much I moan! But he is working hard on getting our house all sorted ready for our baby girl’s arrival, and the list of jobs just keeps on growing!

We also went out for a meal for Jamie’s friend’s 25th Birthday at Cosmo. It was our first time at Cosmo and we had heard so many positive reviews about it that we had to give it a go! I’m so glad we did as it was amazing! The food was so good and I couldn’t get enough of the desserts that were on offer! I’ve found that whilst being pregnant I have gained a very sweet tooth so all you can eat dessert buffet was right up my street! A little bonus was that we got Jamie’s friend’s meal for free since it was his birthday, which I thought was a very nice offer.

Poppy and bump

Poppy and Bump

The following day I then went out for dinner and to the cinema with a few of the girls I work with. Before I went I got Jamie to take a quick photo of me in my summery outfit and just look how cute this photo is with Poppy! It’s like she’s giving my bump a kiss! It’s really poor lighting as it’s just by the front door and on the floor is some paper that Poppy had kindly shredded for us – annoying habit of hers! But I love this photo as it is just so cute! We went for a lovely dinner at Ask Italian and then went to see I Feel Pretty in the cinema. The food was delicious and I was absolutely stuffed when I left as we had mains and desserts, as well as garlic bread – and my stomach just can’t fit quite as much food in it anymore. The film was pretty good and quite funny but I just found the storyline a little bit too predictable. I also found that I was very uncomfortable sat in the cinema with my bump. I don’t think it helped that I was so full from all we had eaten though!

My symptoms this week have been very much the same. I just feel very big and my stomach feels like it’s very tight and very stretched. I know I’m only going to get bigger, so I know this feeling will probably get worse as the weeks go by. I started to notice a few little stretch marks making an appearance a few weeks ago, and this week they have really started to show. They are only on one side at the movement, however I’ve noticed a couple of little marks appearing on the opposite side of my bump too. Here are a few different photos of my 26 weeks pregnant bump.

I have found that I am still getting quite out of breath at times. And bending down/reaching for the feet is being a bit of a difficult task! I’m not sure how much longer I’ll be able to put my tights on for work as that is becoming a bit of a nightmare! I generally feel pretty good. I wouldn’t say I enjoy being pregnant as such, mainly because I get quite uncomfortable at times with hip and back pain. I think that is sometimes made worse due to being on my feet all day and working 12 or 13 hour shifts. I know that baby girl will be worth every bit of discomfort though!

My bump has grown so much recently that most of my pyjamas no longer fit me! So today I popped into Pep and Co to see what they had in stock. It seemed that I just happened to go there at the right time as their pyjamas are currently on offer – 2 for £7. I picked up these two pairs of pyjamas in a bigger size, so they would cover my growing bump. They are so comfy and an absolute bargain at just £3.50 a pair!

So that’s it for my 26 weeks pregnant update. Not really any big changes but we are one week closer to meeting our baby girl!

Thank you so much for reading!

26 weeks Pregnant! 25 weeks pregnant update!

I’ve been a bit quiet with my blog lately, as we have had so much going on! But I need to get back in the swing of things as I started this blog with the intention of not only sharing my life and what we get up to, but also as something that I can look back on in the future.

Pregnancy Tests

I couldn’t believe my eyes! All three were positive!

So…as you may have noticed from the title I am currently 26 weeks pregnant – 26 weeks and 4 days to be precise! In December, we were absolutely delighted to find out that we were pregnant and it really has changed our lives completely.

I remember the day I found out so clearly. That month we had given up trying and agreed we would try again after Christmas, as I’m not going to lie trying to conceive is tough! I know, we were only trying for 6 months but that was tough enough. It is mentally draining, it puts stress on your relationship and the disappointment you feel when those two lines don’t appear on the test and instead you are faced with good Mother Nature’s gift. I can’t even begin to imagine how people feel when they are trying to conceive for years. I don’t know what we did to deserve the early Christmas present that month, whether it be that I was more relaxed and not stressed over trying to conceive (whilst having a break from it) or the fact I ate ridiculous amounts of pineapple as I had read something about it being good for helping your body prepare for implantation. We will never know, but on 12th December 2017 those two lines appeared. I only tested as my period was a few days late, which isn’t something that’s too unusual for me but I had not been feeling myself that week. I can’t explain how I was feeling but I just didn’t feel right and expected more that I was going to come down with a bug! But since I had loads of the little cheap tests as we’d been trying to conceive I thought there’s no harm in seeing what it says!

When those two lines appeared, I cried, yet I couldn’t quite believe my eyes! I know they say there is no such thing as a fake positive, but I did not believe the test was right! How could it be? I dug out both a clear blue test and a first response test and did both at the same time. I was scared to look and just kept shaking. Once I plucked up the courage to look I couldn’t stop crying, they both confirmed that we were pregnant!

Our Baby Girl at 16 weeks

Fast forward to now, we are 26 weeks pregnant and have less than 14 weeks until our due date! It has started to fly by and before we know it she will be here (yes she! We were too impatient to wait to find out the sex).

I thought from now on I will do weekly updates on symptoms, the nursery, my bump etc. As I feel that now will be when we really notice a difference and are really making an effort to get our house ready for our little baby girl!

Baby Items

Conservatory full of baby items!

So this week, I thought I would start with my 25 weeks pregnant update. Then in a few days time I get properly up to date and upload my 26 weeks pregnant update, since I’m nearly at the end of it already! I haven’t really noticed much of a change in my symptoms apart from the nesting phase really kicking in! I think it has just started to hit home that it won’t be long and she’ll be here and we are far from ready for her arrival! I deep cleaned our conservatory this week to make space for all our baby items, as we have finally made a start on her nursery!

Star wallpaper

Star Wallpaper – From Great Little Trading Co.

So far we only have the first coat of white paint done in the nursery, so we have a lot left to do before it’ll be finished. Jamie (my partner) is currently doing the second coat of white paint as I am sitting her typing. But even after that, we still have to put up this beautiful grey star wallpaper, which we ordered from the Great Little Trading Co. We wanted to do a fairly neutral nursery, even though we know she is a girl and plan to add little touches of pink around the room. We then have to put about all the little extras like blinds, curtain poles and shelves. Then it needs carpeting as it’s currently got laminate flooring down, laid very poorly by the previous house owners. Although this was a good excuse to put down a nice soft carpet, ready for our baby girl to play on. I’m hoping we can get it all done before the furniture gets delivered, hopefully in the next couple of weeks! We ordered it from the Baby and Toddler event held by Emma’s Diary last month and were given an estimate of 6 weeks, so hopefully not too much longer. And then I can just sit in the room and add all the little finishing touches whilst we wait for baby girl to make her appearance.

Another symptom, I’ve noticed I’ve been getting this week is that I’ve been getting quite tired and out of breath quickly, I suppose I should expect this as I am carrying another human inside of me! However, this is a bit annoying when you hit the nesting phase and are desperate to get things done as it means for every ten minutes of doing something a half an hour break is then required! Although they are pretty productive breaks – watching youtubers talk about their pregnancy, packing their hospital bags and preparing for their birth.

Apart from that I think pregnancy has treated me fairly kindly, apart from catching every bug I encounter – but I think that’s more related to my lower immune system from pregnancy and working in a hospital so I’m exposed to a lot more than most pregnant women! At least I’m building up lots of antibodies to help with baby girl’s immune system!

25 weeks pregnant

25 Weeks pregnant Bump

Here is my bump at 25 weeks pregnant (I was getting ready to go to my cousins party). This was the day I discovered that most of my nice clothes no longer fit me! This was one of the few dresses I could get over my bump, but I had to wear leggings with it as it is now more of a t-shirt than a dress.

Thank you for reading my little update, I hope it wasn’t too boring!

Meet Poppy

Hey,

20988935_10214293164388049_7865675002269046631_o

If you haven’t seen my previous posts, this is Poppy. Poppy is a Golden Retriever and is currently 15 weeks old. We got her from a lovely breeder in Cambridge, at just 9 weeks old. And she has changed our lives completely!

Poppy has settled in so well, and loves visiting our relatives, especially visiting Monty, our family’s Chocolate Labrador, who lives with my Dad.21246574_10214408124301975_2719273489656032375_o

Poppy enjoys going for her walks, and I’ve even braved letting her off lead. And she is surprisingly well behaved and follows commands!

We’ve only had Poppy for about 6 weeks, and 3 of those we were unable to walk her as she had to have her vaccinations first, but we have already been for walks in the New Forest, on a trip to Kent to visit a relative, for a pub lunch (blog post to follow), to the hospital to for special cuddles with my Grandad (who’s been in hospital for a few months now), to visit the cemetery where my Mum is buried and so many more places! We’ve already made so many memories, but I can’t wait to make even more with her!

The only thing we have found with Poppy is that she is scared of cars. She will happily go for a drive in the car, no problem at all. But when we are going for walks, as soon as she hears a car she gets as far from the road as possible, lays down and watches the car pass. Once it’s passed she just gets up and carries on. Yeah, it’s not a completely bad thing, as at least she’s not too confident and at risk of being hit by a car, but it makes walking a short distance a lot longer than it needs to be.

I could never imagine how much Poppy would change our lives. I now can’t imagine my life without her!

Home Bargains Haul – September 2017

Hey,

I thought I’d share some of the things I bought yesterday whilst in Home bargains! I just love both home bargains and B & M bargains, as you can get some amazing things for such good prices!

Before I start, as I was walking down the aisles, to my excitement, I stepped around the corner to find a Christmas aisles has been started! It currently has Christmas down one side and gardening down the other, but the Christmas items are in!

Anyway, lets start with something I bought from my lounge. We don’t have a coffee table in the middle of our lounge, I we have chosen not to have one, due to space and having a puppy who likes to bounce around the room! But we have found that we have nowhere to put drinks when we have people visiting.

I came across this cute little white, folding table whilst in Home bargains. You can use the top as a tray to carry your drinks too, which is perfect if you’ve got lots of visitors! At just £11.99 this is ideal, and can be folded away when it’s not being used!

I also have a real love for burning scented candles! And at £2.99 each these are a total bargain! I know it’s a bit early to be buying Christmas things, but I’m so excited for Christmas in our first house that I just couldn’t resist! And these smell incredible so I didn’t want to miss out on these!! The first is gingerbread (and my absolute favourite) and the second is warm apple and cinnamon!

I picked up some little neon sticky notes. They are just perfect for writing little reminders on! And they are so cute in a little flower and heart shape. These were just 79p!21744885_10214502001808854_2040504675_o

I always struggle to find a pound coin for shopping trolleys and I always loose the little coin keyrings! But these little keyrings were just 29p each so I can attach another one to my keys (and hopefully not loose the coin), one to my bag, and give one to my partner to attach to his keys too. 21767071_10214502009849055_893441294_o

Another thing I always loose…umbrellas! I just don’t know what I do with them. But at £2.99 each, it won’t matter too much if I loose it (not the mindset I know!). And they had all different colours and patterns to choose from. 21744843_10214502015089186_1863504786_o

Ever heard of the game bananagrams? Well my Nan got my family into it when we were children, and it can be so much fun, and also quite educational for young children too! These were just £4.99 in Home Bargains! When I looked online they seemed to be priced at least double that price! I bought a set for at my house, a set for at work and a set for a gift, as they are a bargain at that price!21742137_10214502003928907_2084061140_o.jpg

I love spending my evening just snuggled up on the sofa watching a film. So when I saw these in Home Bargains I just had to have them. These are just 79p, so I bought 4 so that we have enough for if we have visitors too. They didn’t say if they were dishwasher safe – but for 79p I gave it a go and they seem to be okay afterwards!21755018_10214502135652200_690492986_o

And finally I purchased a few more Christmas gifts. At 69p each these books are perfect for the young children in the family! These would be perfect if you want to do one of the book advent calendars for your children for Christmas and don’t want all Christmas books and want to keep the price down as much as possible. Just look at the lovely illustrations inside the books! And they had Paw Patrol books, which I know is a very popular children’s cartoon!

Thanks for taking the time to read my post. I hope it was of some interest, and you may have spotted some things you might go purchase too!

10 Facts about me

Hey,

I’m Charlotte and welcome to my blog! I thought I’d take the plunge and start a blog as I have a real love for posting things on instagram, and just thought I’d take it one step further!

I’ve been wanting to give this a go for quite a while, so here we go…

I plan to upload posts on shopping hauls, home related posts, posts about training our 15 week old puppy, Poppy and just a bit about what I get up to in my life!

To start things off, I thought I’d post 10 facts about me.

  1. Since I’ve already mentioned her, I am the proud owner of a 15 week old Golden Retriever Puppy, called Poppy. She has quite literally changed my life!20988935_10214293164388049_7865675002269046631_o
  2. I also have a 9 year old Chocolate Labrador, who lives at my Dad’s house (luckily only 2 mins drive away) called Monty. I missed him loads when I went to University and again when I moved out, which is why I got Poppy. Poppy and Monty get on very well, although Monty does get a bit tired of Poppy’s excitable playing!21246574_10214408124301975_2719273489656032375_o
  3.  In June, my partner and I bought our first house!! This was one of the proudest days of my life! So I will post lots about home decor, home organisation and the disasters that we have had happen so far in our first few months of home ownership…yes we’ve had quite a few already!
    21744784_10214501432634625_2105717836_o
  4. Last year I qualified as a paediatric nurse. My graduation was also one of the proudest days of my life!
  5. Last year, I got engaged to Jamie! It was a complete surprise and was by the giraffes at Marwell Zoo, as they are my favourite animal! 13726850_10210143234962407_7637326736606479807_n
  6. I love shopping for things for the house! Maybe it’s just the excitement of having our own home and will just be a phase…although I hope not as it’s makes me so happy!
  7. I have two younger sisters and a younger brother. We do argue at times, but that’s what siblings are for, but we actually get on really well and enjoy spending time with each other!
  8. I love Christmas! And seeing the Christmas things coming out in shops has got me incredibly excited about Christmas in our first house! I’ve already decided on where my two trees are going! Yes two! I just love real tree’s, so plan to have one in the lounge and last year I bought a really nice fake tree, which I plan to have in the conservatory. I can’t wait! Roll on December 1st!
  9. I love the simple things in life! Walks around the local area, or in the New Forest as it’s only about half an hour drive from here. Evening’s in on the sofa watching films. Home cooked foods.
  10. I love Disney films! I just love all films really but especially disney films! I’ve been to Disney in Florida twice as a child, and really want to go back! It’s definitely one of my favourite places! Maybe one day…just can’t afford it at the moment having just bought a house and a Puppy!

Well, that’s just a few random facts about me! Not the most interesting first post but I thought it would just start things off!
